The College Talk Bio!
College Talk is a variety talk show that was created by Andre Thomas in the summer of 2002. It began on the Georgia State University campus as a media outlet that allowed students to voice their opinions about issues regarding college students. It would also allow students to gain television experience by working both on and off camera. Within the first year on the air the College Talk audience spread to six states nationwide and covered and overwhelming seven million households. The show features students from several colleges surrounding metro Atlanta. In the near future the staff is looking to include students from colleges all across the country.
College Talk is hosted and produced by college students. The show has featured a host of celebrity interviews over the year to include 2004 Presidential Candidate Howard Dean, gospel superstar, Vicki Winans, Morris Chestnut, Jamie Foxx, and Lorenz Tate. The students involved in this program are even taught to be community oriented. Within the last year, the College Talk staff members have participated in political campaigns, educational programs, and community outreach programs. The students even found the time to make public service announcements focusing on preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS among young people. The College Talk staff created the Public Service Announcements that are being broadcasted across the country urging young people to either practice safe sex and/or abstinence.
Overall, College Talk has already set its mark in the industry as one of the premier talk shows today providing education and quality entertainment at the same time! The staff members are learning to become leaders in the entertainment industry at which each of them are destined to dominate in the near future.
